「The Monster in the Maze」是一部由英国作曲家乔纳森·道夫(Jonathan Dove)创作的合唱歌剧,改编自古希腊神话中忒修斯与弥诺陶洛斯(牛头怪)的故事。

Tina Wang, founder of the New Zealand International Cultural and Educational Exchange Centre, was honored to perform in New Zealand Opera’s production of The Monster in the Maze at the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre in Auckland. As a soprano, Tina Wang took on the role of the Mother as well as the soprano chorus part.

The Monster in the Maze is a choral opera composed by British composer Jonathan Dove, adapted from the ancient Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. The production was directed by New Zealand Opera’s General Director Brad Cohen and conducted by young conductor Brent Stewart, with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, and community musicians joining together to present this remarkable opera.

What makes this production truly special is that it not only features professional singers in the leading roles, but also brings together children, youth, and adult community choirs. Most of all, we will all be united in experiencing storytelling through the power of the human singing voice, which is the core of our mission and purpose.
